Where has the time gone?

I have been getting a lot of grief lately about not updating my blog, so here goes. It is going to be one of those long update ones, but that's what happens I guess.

Nate is now the service manager at Wells Fargo here in Laramie and he loves it. He is also taking classes full time, so this semester has kind of been a nightmare. If all goes as I am hoping he will graduate in May, but there may be a few bumps in the road and it looks like it could be December of next year. Oh well, he just keeps trucking along and all will turn out as the Lord wants it and not how I want it.

I am getting over some personal/medical things that I am not quite ready to expain yet, but I am getting better each day and am thankful for everyones support. I told dad the other day that I can only imagine what mom went through with all 7 of us at home. I feel like I am constantly doing laundry, dishes, and picking up toys, and I only have 2 boys. He just laughed. Our spare room is a combination of computer, craft, and mess. I am in the process of getting it organized and rearranged so I can do more things with Payton and for myself. It is definatly a long process because I can only work on it while Cameron is taking his nap. I hope to finish soon though.

Payton is as big as ever, at least he thinks he is. He LOVES Transformers right now. He keeps telling me that he needs Optimus Prime to play with the Bumblebee that he has. I keep telling him that we will write Santa a letter and see what happens. I hope Santa (aka Nate and I) can make him happy.

Cameron is growing like a weed. I had to buzz his head the other day and I keep having people tell me that they can't believe how big he is and how grown up he looks. He is definatly a toddler now. He loves to wrestle with his brother and cause havoc where he can. Still, he is very easy going and content to play by himself in his bedroom.

We Live!

Hello to all of my fellow bloggers. Just wanted to write a quick note to say we are still alive. My computer crashed about a month and a half ago and I have been going crazy without it. Nate finally order the part we needed and I feel like I can go on with life now, hahaha.
We have had a busy couple of weeks with a wedding and receptions and what not, hopefully I will be able to post some pictures soon and give more details.

Two Long Weeks

It seems like it has been forever since I have been able to think straight enough to post anything. That would be because I have been taking care of sick boys for the past 2 weeks. It started with Nate getting the flu and missing work for a week! He is still trying to get over it, but at least he went to work this week. Then Payton got the same thing Nate did last weekend, but he seemed to get over it a lot faster. He was feeling better by Monday afternoon so we were excited. Then Wednesday morning he woke up and was miserable again. Nate had the morning off from work so he took him to the doctor while I stayed home with Cameron. Well, come to find out he has strep. He has decided he doesn't like the antibiotic, mostly because he has been taking medicine for over a week now, and so I have had to hold him down to take it. He is still pretty droopy today, but he is finally starting to get off the couch and move around. Hopefully this antibiotic does its job and he can get back to normal.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband. Some might think this is a little cheesy, but it sums up perfectly how I feel about Nathan.

Dear Nate,

You are at the heart of all good things in my life... a warm and happy home, a beautiful family, and a love that never stops giving, supporting, believing. You make my life complete. I couldn't ask for more.

Love,
Always and Forever,
Brynn

Why I love being a MOM!

This morning while I was cleaning up breakfast I heard the boys laughing like crazy in the hallway. When I went to see what was so funny this is what I found.
Payton is wrapped up in his blanket and Cameron was attempting to crawl over him to go into their bedroom.

The end result is that Cameron didn't make it over Payton, at least on the first attempt.
Payton-1 Cameron-0

Attempt #2 left Cameron pinned in the corner laughing his head off.
Payton-2 Cameron-0 Attempt #3 Cameron went at a different angle and managed to wiggle past his brother.

This is just one of the many reasons I love being a mom and being able to stay at home with Payton and Cameron. I love to watch them play together and wrestle around. Cameron thinks it is the funnest thing to wrestle with Payton. He also loves it when Payton chases him around the apartment with his truck or tractor.

I love the sound of their laughter while they are playing together!

Camping season!

We started camping season this weekend up at Curt Gowdy state park and had a blast. There was plenty of food, conversation, kid chasing, dirt, and sun! We finally got to use our big dutch oven from Christmas ( 2 years ago, thanks mom and dad Killpack) and we seasoned our 2 small ones (thanks mom and dad Walker). We made potatoes and cobbler while the Bluemels did a roast and the Pedersens did lemonade and s'mores. Oh wonderful s'mores! I limited myself and only had 2, but Payton was quite interested in them, at least the chocolate and marshmallows. Apparently he was into them all night. We stayed up talking quite late, it tried to rain on us around 11:00, but it only lasted long enough for us to pick up our chairs and send a few people into their tents. Nate and I stayed up talking with Tyler until 11:45.
The kids did pretty good throughout the night. Cameron got cold because he wiggled out of his sleeping bag, so we had him in with us for a couple hours. Once Nate put him back in his bag he was fine for the rest of the night.
Today also happened to be free fishing day, so Nate took his and Payton's fishing poles and got a little practice in. He didn't really try to catch anything, he just wanted to get a feel for his new pole. The funny thing is that Payton started to out cast Nate and we thought it was the funniest thing. Nate wasn't really trying to cast far, he was trying to place it, or so he says. It was a nice day today. The sun was shining all day, it was quite windy at times, but what else can you expect for Wyoming. Anyways, all 4 of us got some sun today and we are red! The top of Cameron's head and his cheeks got burned, while Payton's face, neck, and ears got it. Nate forgot a hat and so his head, face, and neck are burned. I however had a hat, so only the back of my neck and my arms are burned. I think I am the one that is complaining about the sunburns the most. Neither Payton nor Cameron have even mentioned that it hurts or anything. They are such troopers!

Payton and his cuteness.

On Saturday we were down in Fort Collins shopping. I had Payton and Cameron with me and Nate was down about 2 aisles. All of the sudden Payton yells "Daddy oh daddy, where are you? Come out, come out wherever you are!"
I couldn't stop myself from laughing, and then I heard Nate start laughing too. Payton is by no means a quite child, I am sure everyone in the store heard him.

Davis Knees

I was hoping one knee injury is all that I would have to endure, but alas, it is not. I hurt my knee, the one I already had surgery on, Thursday night playing volleyball. I finally got into a doctor today and he says it is my lateral collateral ligament (LCL), which means, thankfully, that I don't need surgery. Unfortunately, I will be out for a month as far as volleyball or biking or anything else is concerned. He says I can start out on a stationary bike and work my way slowly back to full strength. I guess a stationary bike is better than nothing. He also said to take it easy as far as walking in concerned, and to not push myself too much. Oh what horrible luck, I just got my jogging stroller today! That's ok, I just keep telling myself, no surgery, no surgery!
Oh, and if anyone is wondering about the title, my mom's maiden name is Davis, and her and her siblings have cursed knees. I have 3 aunts who have about 8 knee surgery's between them. Also, Chantel, Devin, and I have all had knee surgery, Chantel is probably going to have another one, and I have a torn ligament!

I'm a slacker, I know!

Mostly I have no excuse as to why I only have two blogs (posts, thanks Bluemels), but the boys are being good right now and I figured I better get one done while I have the chance.

Just to get everyone up to speed:
Nate is done with classes for the spring semester and has already started one of his summer classes. He figures if he takes two classes this summer it will make his last year of undergrad a little easier. Also, he is still debating about a masters degree, so we will see what this next year brings.

Payton is growing like a weed. At playgroup with another ward last week some of the moms thought that he was 5 because he was towering over the other kids. I know he isn't near as tall as Corbin, but he is still pretty big. I am buying his pants from the little boy section now instead of the toddler section.
He is also really into learning the letters of the alphabet and loves to play games on the computer, mostly Playhouse Disney and Wordworld on PBS. It has been fun to watch him and see how much he has grown developmental-wise since I started letting him play on the computer. When he first started the mouse pointer was all over the screen and he was constantly asking for help. Now he can control it to the point where he can click and drag and hardly asks for help. He loves craft time, which is anything that involves scissors, glue, or my cricut and scrapbook stuff. We were working on the letter B and his craft for the day was to color, cut out, and glue the butterfly onto the yellow paper.

Cameron has turned into mister curious and is into everything. He especially loves to get into the pantry cupboard and pull out anything he can get his hands on. Lately though, he hasn't made it to the pantry because he stops at the drawer with all of the washcloths. So now he pulls out 3 or 4 and then walks around the house with them. He is getting better at walking and he is much faster, he was almost running after Payton yesterday.
This is Cameron after a busy morning. He won't hold still long enough for me to put his pants back on after a diaper change so I didn't even bother this time. I put the gate up and locked him in his room so I could take a quick shower, when I came out, this is what I found.
As for me, I am just trying to survive. After cleaning, cooking, laundry, and whatever else comes up each day, I love staying at home with the boys. I am amazed at their love for each other and how they play so well each day. I love doing craft time with Payton and bouncing Cameron on my exercise ball. They are a joy to be around and I am truly blessed that I can stay home with them.

Happy Birthday Cameron!

Well I can't believe it, but Cameron turned 1 yesterday. He is so busy these days. He has been walking for about a week now and is getting pretty good. He still takes a tumble when he gets going to fast, but it is fun to see him grow. He also has a tooth that just broke through, so that makes 9 for him. He has not been a happy camper the last couple days because of said tooth. He is growing like a weed. He is wearing 18 month clothes now because he is too tall for 12 month clothes. Its been a fun year with him and I look foreward to seeing what this next year brings!
